SYTYCC – Junior!

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN CHOREOGRAPH JUNIOR IS SUPPORTED BY:

“So, You Think You Can Choreograph - Junior” offers dance students in the Capital Region the unique opportunity to work alongside professional choreographers to learn the ins and outs of taking a piece from idea, to studio, to stage. “So, You Think You can Choreograph - Junior” demystifies the creative process by giving young, budding choreographers hands-on experience creating their own piece for a real show.

Students will go through an application process and, once accepted, create their piece from start to finish with guidance from a professional choreographer along the way. Judges critique the pieces with constructive feedback to give the students opportunities to learn and grow as artists. Finally, students get real, immediate feedback from the audience after the piece is performed live.

This one-of-a-kind program gives aspiring choreographers a deep dive into what it takes to create a professional-quality dance - from studio to stage.

Participants must complete The Choreography Lab program, in order for their work to be entered into the SYTYCC- Jr competition.
